Medical Weight Loss — Provider-Led, Step by Step
At Midwest Weight Wellness & NAD, medical weight loss is delivered through a structured clinical process led by a licensed Nurse Practitioner. Treatment decisions are based on medical guidelines, safety, and individual health needs — not one-size-fits-all programs.
Step 1: Secure Medical Intake
You begin by completing a confidential online medical intake form. This includes information about your:
-
Weight history and goals
-
Current medical conditions
-
Medications and supplements
-
Prior weight-loss treatments
All information is reviewed as part of your medical record.
Step 2: Medical Evaluation by a Licensed Nurse Practitioner
Your intake is reviewed during a one-on-one telehealth visit with a licensed Nurse Practitioner.
During this consultation, we:
-
Review your health history
-
Assess eligibility for medical weight loss
-
Discuss potential treatment options
-
Answer questions and review expectations
Not every patient is a candidate for GLP-1 therapy. Appropriateness is determined medically.
Step 3: Clinical Review & Safety Screening
When indicated, additional review may include:
-
Evaluation of contraindications
-
Review of prior or current lab results
-
Documentation of clinical need
If compounded medication is considered, the clinical need for compounding is documented in accordance with medical and pharmacy standards.
Step 4: Prescription & Pharmacy Fulfillment
If a GLP-1 medication or other therapy is clinically appropriate, a prescription is issued by the Nurse Practitioner and fulfilled through a licensed pharmacy.
-
Medications are dispensed by the pharmacy
-
Shipping and handling are managed by the pharmacy
-
Medication costs are separate from medical service fees
Medications are prescribed only when appropriate and are not guaranteed.
Step 5: Ongoing Medical Care & Monitoring
Medical weight loss requires follow-up and monitoring. Patients enrolled in ongoing care receive:
-
Regular provider follow-ups
-
Dose adjustments when clinically appropriate
-
Monitoring of progress and tolerability
-
Continuity with the same Nurse Practitioner
This is medical care — not a subscription service or automated program.
